Organization Overview

1. In School Programme

·Programme continued in 48 township primary schools

·Target Area: Johannesburg Central (D14) District Schools, Erkuhuleni

·Projected Reach: 7,500 Grade 6 Learners

2. Centres of Excellence

·Located in Diepsloot

·Management and monitoring of chess coaches and learners

·These will develop chess skills level continue to reach local tournament level

·Reach: 200 participants of all ages

3. Chess-letes

·Learners from all programmes with skills and ability and willingness to development their chess ability in Gauteng chess activities

·Structured series of Chess competitions held at local, district and provincial level

4. Monitoring & Evaluation

·Application developed with JumpTrak Technologies to track all high performing chess players

·High performers to received chess rating linked into Chess SA and FIDE standards

Background & History

Since 2008 the Chesskids Academy has been active in underprivileged communities teaching and coaching chess at primary school level. Over 35,000 have benefited from the programme which has been supported by Nedbank since its inception

we had a chess kids tournament at Greyville primary on the 11. June 2016 with the CEO of Nedbank NCIB and it was absolutely successful. to Everyone WELL done
