On the 15th of September 2016, Spelling Bee Botswana in association with First National Bank Botswana and the Gaborone City Council hosted a Spelling Bee bee competition for students living with disabilities. A total of 11 students from around Gaborone, Botswana participated in the competition. The following schools participated; Motswedi JSS, Gaborone West JSS, Kgale Hill JSS, Nanogang JSS, Maikano JSS, Ledumang Primary School.

The aim of the competition was to have both a recreational yet educational activity for the children. The competition was held on the 2016 at FNBB Park and the students enjoyed the challenge that the competition presented.

The atmosphere of the competition was so captivating and joyful that the facilitators decided to join in on the action and were shocked when the students performed better than them.

It was an amazing day filled with joy, smiles and the buzzing laughter of students taking part in a spelling bee competition.
